A few stats from the first day of early voting:
1,400 voted yesterday in Buncombe County
344 voted in Haywood County
338 voted in Watauga County
More reports as they come in.
Doesn't look like a "dismal turn-out" year to us, as many party operatives and even state Board of Elections officials were predicting.
